Just bought a 2210 and have to say, so far I love it. The only problem I can find is the mower deck adjustment knob. It will not turn. ANyone have any idea as to why? I have a call in to the dealer but I was told it will be monday before they can get back to me so I thought I'd ask on here.

Is the deck raised all the way up? The deck arms should be about 1/16" from the stop pins. Only in the raised position can you turn the knob. ....

Sorry can't help, Never used or worked on a 2210 with a deck. The knob should turned then the deck is all the way up like all JD MMM decks. You may have to lift up on the deck a little to relief the weight from it, to get it to turn. ....

I am not sure how I missed this post back on 9-19. Something I noticed on my 2210 was that if you do not have a 3pt attachment on the back, the lower arms have a tendency to just hang in the middle, and when you raise the lift, the left arm will not catch the mechanism that lifts the mmm all the way up. I had the same trouble you spoke of until I investigated how the whole thing worked. You should probably put a bar across the 3pt when you don't have an attachment on. I haven't yet, but need to. Hope this helps ....

You are absolutely correct about the spacer bar. The MMM lift mechanism will slip-off the left-hand arm without the bar to hold the 3PTH arms apart. My 2210 came with a rod between the arms, with a couple of pins at each side. I just assumed it was something that was included as part of the MMM installation. ....

I second that about the spacer bar. I got a used deck from a 455 and bought the mounting kit for the 2210. It included the spacer bar. Also, I found that the adjustment of the lift arms is critical. It HAS to be within a 16th" of the stop pins or you can't adjust or up-lock it. I adjusted it too high the first time and bent the push rod going to the 3ph. Ah, well, a little heat, a vice and it's as good as new. At least I fully understand how the thing works now. ....
